Mini objects to represent speech sounds in initial, medial and final word positions.
For example the /P/ sound will have three objects in the compartment such as pig, apple and sheep. Three objects per sound.
The sounds /h/, /w/, /y/ (as in yellow) will have three objects but it is for initial word position only.
There are six objects per blend (s, l r blends)
As an SLP I frequently get asked to screen a student’s speech. Typically I don’t know the student and sometimes the student is hesitant to communicate. The mini objects are so engaging that most kids will communicate during the initial speech screen.
